Hi, I’m Mihir Sanghvi a computer science student at Rutgers University. I'm in love with the idea of building tools that help people. Being a person who knows the struggles of having colorblindness, I'm passionate about building tools that help people with the same struggles that I face. ColorBlind Helper began as a personal project while auditing client work for accessibility gaps. Today, it’s grown into a community-driven effort to normalize accessible color testing everywhere.

This Privacy Policy describes how the Color Blind Helper Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices. This policy applies to your use of the Extension.
The Color Blind Helper extension is designed with your privacy as a core principle. We explicitly state that we do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
No Data Collection: Color Blind Helper operates entirely on your device and does not send any information to external servers.
Color Blind Helper operates entirely locally on your device. Its core functions are:
All processing for these functions happens directly within your browser. The code is executed on the client-side, and no data related to these activities leaves your computer.
The Extension does not store any user data locally or on any external servers. Any temporary settings (like your preferred simulation type) are stored locally on your browser using Chrome's storage.sync or storage.local API and are never transmitted to us or any third party.
To function as intended, the Extension requires certain permissions. Here is a clear explanation of why each is needed:
<all_urls> or "activeTab": This permission allows the Extension to run on any website you visit. It is necessary to simulate color blindness and analyze contrast by accessing and modifying webpage content. We do not use this permission to extract or transmit data from these pages.storage: This allows the Extension to remember your preferences (e.g., the last selected color blindness mode). This provides a convenient user experience by saving your settings locally on your browser. This data is not personal and is not synced to any external server. We do not share, sell, or trade any user information with third parties because we do not collect any information to begin with.
This Extension is designed to be fully compliant with data protection regulations like the GDPR and CCPA. Since no personal data is collected, the obligations and rights associated with such data do not apply. You maintain complete control and privacy over your browsing experience.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
